There are no words to express how I feel at the moment – watching the TV news and seeing disturbing images from the bushfires which are ravaging Victoria and New South Wales. The devastation in Victoria has been total and probably totally unpredicted. The sadness and empathy I feel is overwhelming – and I personally haven’t been affected. My thoughts and prayers go to all who have been affected by this tragedy. I’m also angry – because it seems a lot of the fires were deliberately lit. I hope the powers that be, catch these arsonists and bring the weight of the law down on them. The complete disregard by the arsonists for others – their lives, their livelihoods and their possessions is incomprehensible.
